Mariana Pratts was born Mariana Moyett, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, January of 1932.
She was raised in the mountains of San Lorenzo along with close to 11 siblings, a few who died in infancy and childhood.
Her mother was Victoria Nieves and her father Mateo Moyett.
Her siblings growing-up were Juanita, Julio, Maria, Juan, Angela, Antonio and Carmen.
She and her husband Maximo Pratts (Oscar) had five children; Victoria, Nancy, Val, Oscar and Wily, whose spouses are Marcelino, Franchot, Margarita and Wendy.
From those children came 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Her grandchildren are: Jennifer, Jason, TashaDee, Oscar Jr., Franchot Jr., Bianca, Wily, Sharmilla, Chareeze, Karen, Michael, Selena, Sankie, Daniel and Joshua.
Her great-grandchildren are: Janiah, Devell, Honesty, Tristan, Emerie, Juliette, Wesley, Olivia, Isabel, Samantha, Matthew, Cincere, Caliyah, Cashlin, Sophia, Ryder, Carlos & Christopher.
Although Mariana and Oscar lived on modest means, they always managed to feed their kids, in-laws, grandkids and occasionally the local homeless man.
That’s the product of growing up with little and feeling like you have plenty to thank God for.
Mariana was an active parishioner at St. Barbara’s church.
She was part of the prayer group, the Charismatic group and a Cursillista.
She enjoyed numerous retreats throughout the years; whether short one for a few hours or those that lasted all day, even if she had to board a long bus ride with a group.
She raised all her children in the Catholic faith because she truly believed it to be important.
Mariana suffered from numerous ailments throughout the years; to list them would seem sad.
