Dear Josh: I knew you many, many years before Mark's grace came into your life. In all those years, Mark was the only partner I met, the only one, because he was The One.
You recently joked that you would not make a good juror because because you have very poor judgement. You expanded this thought with "It took me 21 years to find Mark." Mark was worth that wait. You were so perfect for each other, you complimented each other, you made each other complete.
Mark was The One, not just to you, but to those he cared about and loved. He was the one who traveled the United States with his mother, evaluating southern cities to find a new home for his mother. I remember when you told me you and Mark were traveling the South, I thought "Who does that? Just move Mark's mother to Brooklyn." Mark did that. Mark made that time. Mark prioritized his mother. Mark was a wonderful human being.
I'm so sorry you and Mark will not enjoy the wonderful future plans you both had. But, he leaves you with a life of memories. He has forever changed you. A piece of him lives on, in you.
I love you.
Katie
